(서울=연합인포맥스) 한종화 기자 = 중국의 가상화폐공개(ICO) 금지 조치가 모든 가상화폐 거래를 불법화하려는 의도일 수 있다고 전문가들이 EToro 거래 플랫폼 분석했다.
ICO는 기업공개(IPO)와 유사한 방식으로 새로운 가상화폐를 발행하면서 현금이나 다른 가상화폐를 조달하는 것을 말한다.
인민은행 등 중국 당국은 4일 ICO를 불법으로 규정하고 가상화폐는 일반적 통화와 동일한 법률 지위를 가지지 않는다고 말했다.
인민은행은 "가상 화폐를 시장에서 유통하고 사용해서는 안된다"고 말했다.
5일 비즈니스인사이더에 따르면 거래 플랫폼 이토로(eToro)의 애덤 이프리마 운영 디렉터는 "당국의 조치는 예상보다 훨씬 강력했다"며 "가상화폐 관련 거래는 공식적으로 금지됐다"고 말했다.
다만 그는 "중국 정부가 첨단 블록체인 개발에 반대하는 것이라고는 생각하지 않는다"며 "중국이 단속하고자 하는 것은 사기꾼들"이라고 말했다.
크립토컴패어의 찰스 헤이터 최고경영자(CEO)는 "당국의 발표는 해석의 여지가 열려있고, 당국이 이를 명확히 할 때까지 불확실성이 큰 상황"이라고 말했다.
미국 온라인매체 쿼츠도 당국의 발표에도 불구하고 대부분의 중국 거래 플랫폼들이 비트코인 거래를 계속 할 것이라고 말했다고 전했다.
이프리마 디렉터는 글로벌 ICO 시장에 대해서도 "질적으로 우수한 (ICO) 프로젝트 가운데 중국에서 로드쇼를 하지 않는 경우는 없다"며 "이번 조치는 매우 부정적이다"고 말했다.
